Wednesday, January 16, 2013Ryan Mach
The UK’s second largest city, Birmingham,
always does Christmas with style. Whether it’s the shopping opportunities, the
evening entertainment or the festive events, this Midlands city is a hub for
Christmas spirit. Spend the day here, or enjoy a longer stay and search for cheap hotels
in Birmingham to keep prices low.
Frankfurt Christmas Market is back between
November 15th and December 22nd. Whether you plan to take
your little ones for a customary visit to Santa Claus, or you prefer to enjoy a
glass of mulled wine on a cold winter’s day, you can at this hugely successful
market. Last year saw a monstrous five million people enjoy the market stalls
(all 193 of them!), the Christmas shopping opportunities and the traditional
gluhwein. Erected in Victoria Square and lining New Street, the Frankfurt
Christmas Market is the biggest of its kind outside of Germany and Austria, so
it’s no wonder people flock in their thousands to get a piece of this
traditional action. Running in conjunction with the Birmingham Craft Fair again
this year, the undeniable buzz that surrounds the city during the weeks running
up to Christmas is sure to put you in the festive spirit.
